THE WORLD’S MOST STYLISH STUFF

Kartel Kendrick Watch Balmy days in beer gardens call for a cool, unfussy watch; but one still reliable enough to get you home on time before being banished to the spare room by your other half. Sound familiar? Scottish watch company Kartel has got you covered with its recently launched Kendrick model. In addition to a high precision Japanese movement, stainless steel caseback, discreet date window and genuine leather strap, the watch face uses words in the place of numbers. Just in case it was more than “just a quick half”.

Available at Kartel, priced £85.

FOLK HERO

Yarn-bombing hits a new homegrown collection

Kartel Watches, a small brand dedicated to affordable, unfussy timepieces, are designed and produced in Scotland, a country not known for its horological heritage. In keeping with its Scottish roots, Kartel’s Tarbert collection utilises one of Scotland’s most famous exports: Harris Tweed, handwoven by islanders on the Outer Hebrides using techniques that have remained unchanged for centuries. A white dial and a pale silvery grey case ensures the tweed really sings, while the thoughtful addition of leather backing to the straps guarantees durability and all important comfort.
